Whether this makes me like Inverness anymore, i don't know. All I do know is, is that this is an amazing photograph.I stumbled across it by accident.
According to the site i found it from it was taken in march 2004 which means that it is nearly 5years old!
Crazy.
It's quite nostalgic to me for a few reasons.
The first being that it has "the factory" sign in it.
I loathed this shop but i reckon in 2004 it was probably the only clothes shop i entered.
Secondly it has Woolworths in it. Need i say more?
And lastly, even though Inverness was officially named a city in 2001, this photo still gives a very "towny" vibe.
It is desolate.
There are only a few people around and they are just minding their own business.
In contrast, if you were to take a photograph from the same position today, the atmosphere of the photo would be far more frantic and I don't think it would stand out like this one did.
So the next time you are walking through Barron Taylor Street, think of this photo and I guarantee that you will understand what i mean.
