Fads.

Ok, I know this effects all those born in the 90's yo.
Well it effects everyone who was a kid on the playground but i will be talking about fads that went around when I was at G.U.P.S. holmes.
A fad is or was an item that you had to posses if you wanted to have any sort of chance at talking to another kid.
Please let me know of any fads that went on at your school or if i have missed any out from my school.
So the earliest fad that went on at our school that i can remember was the girls having those jelly shoes. Obviously i never had to own a pair to still be cool but i remember all the girls having them.
Ahahahaha.
Then there were poppers! Hey-Oooooooh!
How mental were they!?
Why really would you want your son or daughter running around in trousers which were detachable like that!?
I mean lets be honest here, we should atleast be giving peadophiles and rapists a challenge.
My first pair were diadora ones with orange piping up the side and by fuck did i think i was nails.
Aww bad times.
Then the next one was yo-yos.
Took me a while to get mine and I had a few lonley wee plays playing one touch by myself. But, i managed to convince my mother that it wasnt a waste of money and that i would do it for ever and ever so i got one.
She knew that i was talking bullshit but at the time i couldnt have been more serious.
A pro-yo2 was the model and it was green. Fucking loved it. I could do "walk the dog" and....like 99.9% of everyone else thats all i could do. Oh no wait i could do "around the world" but that wasnt a trick! that was just throwing it around your head like a mentalist.
But there was always that one kid in your playground who could do all the moves. I HATED him.
After that i think was poke'mon cards.
i don't want to think about how much money got spent on those (mainly my mums).
£2.50 for a pack of 9? Ive forgotten how many you got but christ, thinking back on it what a load of gumpf that was. And there was always that excitment, like charlie opening his wonka chocolate. to see if there was a shiny in the pack.
Now I could go into detail on this but this blog is starting to thicken out and i dont want to bore.
But lets just say i pwnd@poke'mon.
The last fad i remember was the NY hats. Most known from the front man of limp bizkit,Fred Durst, but i remember all the boys, and wierdly the odd girl having them.
Choosing mine was a long procedure but i went for the unique white one which noone had and i felt untouchable.
